The shopper bag here is sewn in soft leather. In addition to the zip at the top of the bag, it also has an internal zip pocket with space for keys, jewelery and other small essentials.

With the Mabul bag, you get rid of broken, worn-out plastic bags – instead, you can carry your necessities in a durable net that will certainly last for many years to come. The design is minimalistic and timeless, so you are also guaranteed a bag that will not go out of fashion.

Where is the bag sewn?

The bag is sewn by our partner in India.
In fact, this factory was among my first collaborators, so I have been getting styles from here since 2015.
The factory follows SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit), which is a collection of ethical "best practices". Here you look at general responsible business practices in relation to health, ethics, safety etc. This is a good way for the factory to keep up to date on everything from international requirements for increased transparency to fair business conditions.

Care & patina

Care: The bag can be used as is. If the leather appears dry over time, you can give it leather fat without color (note: leather fat can rub off on clothes if it's humid weather/not completely dried).
The bag is slightly dirt-repellent, but if you want a more repellent surface, it can be impregnated with a spray. Impregnation can give the leather a slightly different feel, as it is an extra "layer" on the leather - always test on the back side first.
Patina: The leather will patina over time.
The patina comes automatically with use, rain, sunscreen and whatever else a bag is exposed to.

Fast delivery: I will send your package the same day you order (before 14:00 - weekends & public holidays excluded). You typically have the package within 1-3 business days, depending on the freight you choose.
Price: Our cheapest delivery on this product is DKK 30 with DAO to a shop (Denmark). The price for international orders will appear when inserting your address.

Shopper bag leather in black - named after Mabul Island

This lovely Mabul shopper bag in leather with zip is named after the island of Mabul. This is one of the most beautiful places on earth, so once I start, I'll probably never stop. But I'll try to keep it short…

Mabul is a tiny little island on the south-eastern part of Sabah, Borneo (Malaysia). Originally the island was a small fishing village, but since the 90s it has become a very popular island for divers - this is mainly due to the fact that it is next door to Sipidan Island, which is one of the most beautiful places in the world to dive! The water from the islands has strong currents that bring good food to the fish, sharks and turtles that live in abundance in the all blue sea!

Michala's visit to Mabul Island

I lived on Mabul Island for five days in January 2013. When it was the middle of the rainy season, the first two days were marked by dark clouds and rain. It was disappointing as life under the sea looks boring when the sun is not shining. If there is a lot of wind and thus waves, it also pulls up in plants and sand, so there is poorer visibility.
However, the sun came out on the 3rd day and the water was more beautiful than ever! I really just love lying in the water with my snorkel. The experience of being able to lie down and look at large shoals of colored fish, lake snakes, rays, turtles, etc. is an amazingly beautiful experience. It's really indescribably fat and definitely my favorite occupation when I'm on vacation. I also love that everything called make-up, nice clothes and hair is completely indifferent when you are at / in the sea!

Mabul Island is one of my favorite destinations - and this Mabul net bag is also a personal favorite everyday bag. A tote bag always lasts - if you ask me!
