Mirissa is a crossover bag with many functions.
The bag consists of two clutch parts, both of which can be clicked onto the strap and used together. If, on the other hand, you want a smaller bag or a new look, you can choose to wear only one of the parts on the bag or simply use one of the parts as a clutch.

Both clutch parts consist of a large compartment with an internal open pocket and a pocket with a zipper. They close at the top with a zipper.

Patina: See exactly how this leather patinas in the last photo in the gallery. The leather becomes darker and more nuanced.

The depth is narrow from new. However, if you use the bag a lot and fill it, both clutch parts will expand and create more depth, about 9 cm

Care & patina

The leather: This product is sewn in leather that is free of chrome, heavy metals, formaldehyde, chlorinated paraffins and azo dyes.
Care: The wallet can be used as it is. This will give a quicker patina.
If you instead wish to protect the wallet against dirt, liquids and stains, it is a good idea to impregnate (spray) it before use. Though, the patina can not be avoided throughout the years - this is the charm of leather and makes your wallet unique.
NOTE: Impregnation can give the leather a different feel. Always test on the back first.
Patina: The brown leather will patina and become darker and less "perfect" in appearance over time. The black leather will also patina, but retain its color.
The patina comes automatically with use, rain, sunscreen and whatever else a bag is exposed to.

Brown clutch and bag with shoulder strap

This brown crossover bag is multifunctional and can therefore be used as a clutch, clutch with shoulder strap, a small crossover bag or a completely ordinary crossover with many compartments. Besides this, the parts can actually also be flipped so you can create exactly the look you like.

How does the bag work?

The bag consists of a total of two clutches that can be clicked onto the strap with the buckles. Both of these clutches are identical inside and consist of the large compartment, a smaller open pocket and a pocket with a zipper.

That is, if you want a brown crossover bag with a lot of space, you need to have all the parts together. This way you get the fullest bag.
If, on the other hand, you want to create a smaller bag that you can still have over your shoulders, you can easily click one of the clutch parts off. You can either click the front or the rear clutch off, depending on what you want that day.

If you just want a brown clutch in a natural and classic look, you can refrain from using the shoulder strap. Again, you can use the front or rear part as a clutch, depending on your preferences.

Both parts of the bag have an external zipper so that your belongings can not fall out. In addition to the large compartment, both parts of the bag have an inside open pocket and in addition an inside pocket with a zipper.

Clutch and bag - about the name

The Mirissa bag is named after the beautiful Mirissa beach in Sri Lanka.
My girlfriend and I visited Sri Lanka in 2018 with two, slightly too heavy, backpacks. We had planned the tour ourselves, which consisted of fantastic natural experiences, visits to locals, cultural visits and, not least, relaxation - everything that a good holiday, in our eyes, consists of.

Clutch named after Mirissa beach

The penultimate stop on our journey was Mirissa beach. Mirissa is located at the very southern tip of Sri Lanka, and is one of the more touristic beaches in Sri Lanka - and for good reason. The beach is relatively wide and consists entirely of fine, small grains of sand that sparkle in the hot south-eastern sun. Like any other beach with tourists, cafes have established themselves along the beach. Here there is plenty of opportunity to curl up in their sun loungers while enjoying the sand in your toes and the beautiful sea view.
The water was not cold, but not hot either - I would call it suitably cooling!

What can you do in Mirissa?

As soon as you walk a little away from the beach, you hit the main highway that runs through the relatively small town. We walked by the road one morning, just to look in the surrounding small shops. Here we discovered two things.
The first was surfing! They advertised surf lessons on the beach next door, and of course we had to try that. Like everything else we signed up for in Sri Lanka, it was a huge success! Hold on, it's fun to surf. We surfed as long as our upper bodies could take it - it turns out that you easily get burn marks on your stomach if you're not wearing a t-shirt. No one had told us that!

The next thing we saw was "Rotti Hut", the local eatery. For 5-8 measly kroner we got the best food we had had on the whole trip, namely wok-fried vegetables with chicken in a homemade pancake. It was all made over an open fire and tasted nothing short of amazing. They had probably also been on YouTube and seen that chocolate always attracts tourists - at least you could also get their local pancakes with chocolate and banana in them - and then you might be able to guess what we had for breakfast in the future.

We thought we were going to relax…

But as you may sense, we always come up with something to do.
We went in January. At this very time, the world's largest animal, the blue whale, swims from the cold waters around Antarctica towards the warmer, tropical seas just off Sri Lanka to breed. We decided to give our whale-spotting genes a try, and so set out in a small boat from the port of Mirissa very early in the morning. We had no idea what to expect from the trip. Fortunately for us and our tired burger eyes, the first few hours were spent sailing away from the coast.
Just as we were about to wake up, it happens! We see the back of a huge (!) blue whale on the horizon! You in no way get a sense of the whale's enormous size, as you only see a fraction above the water's surface. When the whale dives again, it gives a push with its tail, making it visible for a few seconds. Even if you only see part of the whale from a very long distance, it is always a wild experience to see animals in their own home!
Mirissa ended up being a really cool stop on the way, where we both got relaxed but also experienced a lot.
