The leather: This product is sewn in leather that is free of chrome, heavy metals, formaldehyde, chlorinated paraffins and azo dyes.
Patina:The leather will patina over time.
The patina comes automatically with use, rain, sunscreen and whatever else a bag is exposed to.
Care: The wallet can be used as it is. This will give a quicker patina.
If you instead wish to protect the wallet against dirt, liquids and stains, it is a good idea to impregnate (spray) it before use. Though, the patina can not be avoided throughout the years - this is the charm of leather and makes your wallet unique.
NOTE: Impregnation can give the leather a different feel. Always test on the back first.

Siem belt bag - About the name

The fine Siem bumbags leather belt bag is named after the extraordinary city of Siem Reap in Cambodia.
The city is located in the North-Western part of the country, and is known for the Angkor area, which is today on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Angkor, meaning capital, was the capital of the Khmer Empire from the 9th to the 15th century.
I have been there 3-4 times, both as a child when I lived in Cambodia, but also in 2016 with my boyfriend. The city is definitely worth a visit, even though you may feel like you have seen enough temples on your Asia trip.

A belt bag named after the world's largest city - at the time

In its heyday, Angkor was the world's largest city! Not only that, the city had an extensive infrastructure that connected the over 1000 square kilometers - and the center of the capital was a sea of lavish temples. Angkor today testifies to a wildly fascinating and talented population.
Some of the temples today are just a few scattered bricks, while others stand at their full, impressive height – e.g. the best preserved and best known Angkor Wat. All the temples are adorned with detailed carvings of religious stories, devas (friendly deities), asuras (demonic deities) and apsaras (nymphs). And as if that wasn't wild enough, over the many centuries huge trees have grown under, above and through many of the temples!

It certainly does not make this journey to the past less fascinating, and as Lonely Planet writes, it really is a “gateway to an ancient world”.
The Angkor Wat Temple is also seen in the middle of the Cambodian flag - and I can well understand that they are proud of what is today seen as Cambodia's architectural highlight!
But let's just say it like it is: I'm not the first to stop by. Every year approximately 2 million people visit the area! That's a crazy amount. Although there are of course many tourists – mostly at the well-known temples – the area should therefore be on your to-see bucket list! That is why I also chose that this leather belt bag for men and women should be named after the area.
