There is a zip at the top and several interior pockets. In addition, the shoulder strap can be adjusted so that the length suits you.

Leather & care

The leather: This product is sewn in leather that is free of chrome, heavy metals, formaldehyde, chlorinated paraffins and azo dyes.
Care: The wallet can be used as it is. This will give a quicker patina.
If you instead wish to protect the wallet against dirt, liquids and stains, it is a good idea to impregnate (spray) it before use. Though, the patina can not be avoided throughout the years - this is the charm of leather and makes your wallet unique.
NOTE: Impregnation can give the leather a different feel. Always test on the back first.
Patina: The brown leather will patina and become darker and less "perfect" in appearance over time. The black leather will also patina, but retain its color.
The patina comes automatically with use, rain, sunscreen and whatever else a bag is exposed to.

Everyday bag in leather

The backpack can be used as an everyday bag or e.g. as a school bag in leather or diaper bag. It is full-bodied and fits well on the shoulders, so you can walk with the bag for a longer time.

In addition to the outer zipper, the backpack also has two smaller inner pockets. One inside pocket is also with a zipper and ensures that your necessities do not fall out.

The leather on the bag

The leather on this bag is from India. It is thick and durable, so you can use the bag for many years to come. The leather is not stiff as e.g. core leather, but a little softer. The backpack gets a lot of patina when used - often spilled liquids, scratches, dirty marks, etc. are erased with time, and instead turn out to be a nice darker patina.

Leather backpack Walawe - About the name

This stunning, and exquisitely fine, leather backpack is named after the Udawalawe National Park in Sri Lanka.
The location just south of Sri Lanka's central highlands creates a delightful backdrop for the rich wildlife that can be experienced on a jeep safari. Of course we did! As the park is located around a large water reservoir, the living conditions for wild elephants are ideal! There is also the opportunity to spot everything from single males to really large flocks with "small" babies!

Visit to Udawalawe

My boyfriend and I visited Udawalawe in January 2018. Together with an Austrian couple, we arranged a 4-5 hour safari trip with our guesthouse. Actually the trip was only 3 hours, but (luckily for us) we were the only guests that day. If we have to say so ourselves, the hours also fit perfectly with the size and content of the park. We settled into the jeep at 12.30, and had barely reached the park before a large herd of elephants blocked the way in front of us. The herd consisted of both large and small elephants. It was simply so fantastic to be in the middle of the pack for a while.
It gives a huge hiss in the stomach to see the big, free-ranging animals right in front of one!

A multitude of animals

There were also a host of other animals. Among other things. wild peacocks, eagles, water buffalo, wild boar, deer, jackals, crocodiles and a myriad of colorful birds! But it was definitely the park's high number of elephants that made the experience very special for us.
Udawalawe can of course not be compared to African safaris, but nonetheless it was a mega good and eventful trip. It's so cool that Sri Lanka - despite its small size - can offer everything from mountains, to beautiful beaches and safaris ?!

Warm recommendations

The area definitely has my warmest recommendations. For the same reason, I knew right away that one of my products had to be named after the area. My next product was this leather backpack, which is exactly why it was so lucky to be named after the park.
